Prof. Dr. Dilek Özcengiz

Prof. Dr. Dilek Özcengiz graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University in 2020 and subsequently obtained her advocate's license. Since then, she started to work in the field of medical law. She has given numerous medical and legal opinions in this area, authored many indexed publications, and participated in prestigious national and international medical law conferences. She provides educational trainings to universities, bar associations and professional organizations in the field of medical law. Dilek Özcengiz also has a mediation certificate.

Özcengiz, who also graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1985, is an intensive care specialist. In 1991, she became a specialist in Anesthesiology and Reanimation and appointed as an assistant professor in the same year. Between 1993 and 1994, she participated in studies on open-heart and pediatric anesthesia at St. Thomas' Hospital in London, and on pediatric open-heart anesthesia at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. She became an associate professor in 1996 and a professor in 2005. She received her master's degree in 2006 from the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance in the Institute of Social Sciences' Educational Sciences. In May 2016, she received the title of Doctor of Science in Health Psychology Counseling. She has published 15 books so far and has more than 150 articles published in national and international journals.


She served as the representative of Turkey (ACORN) in ESPA (European Society of Pediatric Anesthesia) from 2006 to 2015. She was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation for the 2012-2014 term. She worked as a member of the TARD YEK from 2013 to 2017. Dr. Özcengiz served as the Director of the Ç.Ü. Vocational School of Health Services from 2006 to 2011, and as the Dean of the Ç.Ü. Faculty of Medicine from 2013 to 2016. She lectured as a guest lecturer at Kazakhstan Nazarbayev University and Ukraine Kharkiv National Academy.
